Job Description:

We are seeking a senior engineer to join our Autonomous Vehicle Integrity Platform (AVIP) organization in a role that combines software triage and data analysis with cross-functional program execution. You should be able to read and understand code (C++, Python), be experienced with creating and utilizing data visualizations, and have a strong track record of reliable, clear communication. You will lead execution across vehicle programs—triaging issues, driving containment, and ensuring long-term resolution—while using data, tooling, and structured triage practices to keep leadership and cross-functional teams aligned on software quality and launch readiness. You thrive in collaborative, high-stakes environments, exercise independent judgment, and can translate complex technical problems into clear actions for diverse audiences.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Act as a point of contact for AV diagnostic and AV Platform issues across manufacturing, service, program leadership and engineering. You communicate technical risks, resolution progress, and provide recommendations to leadership and release stakeholders directly impacting engineering priorities and release decisions.
  • Define and improve triage workflows, enabling efficient and consistent issue ownership, classification, and prioritization across test and production environments.
  • Track issue containment, escalation, and long-term corrective actions across the organization.
  • Escalate and route failures to the right owners with clear context and expected outcomes.
  • Leverage system and customer understanding to support prioritization across defects, technical debt, and future work.
  • Lead root causing efforts, understand issues at a detailed level, and deliver both short-term containment and long-term solutions across vehicle programs, manufacturing environments, and release milestones.
  • Perform deep debugging and root cause analysis across AV diagnostic and AV Platform software.
  • Ingest, normalize, and correlate data from test benches, development vehicles, manufacturing, and the service community, creating large, useable data sets.
  • Develop and maintain scalable tools, dashboards, and other data insight and visualization methods to identify trends, measure and forecast software quality, and root cause issues.
  • Provide timely and accurate visibility into the state of the AVIP organizations released SW quality.
  • Report on technical issues, translating findings and risks into clear communication for engineers, program stakeholders, and leadership
  • Lead and support process improvements within the organization based on identified issues, continuously improving SW quality.
  • Collaborate with adjacent engineering teams and downstream partners to address integration issues early and incorporate field and manufacturing needs into development and release planning.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field—or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with observability, visualization, and data storage tools such as Grafana, Databricks, Power BI, GitHub, Azure, etc.
  • Working proficiency in C++, Python and SQL for issue investigations, automation, and reporting.
  • Analytical and debugging skills in real time distributed software systems (C++ and Python).
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle, release processes, and software quality practices.
  • A track record of strong initiative, judgment, and problem-solving in highly ambiguous, time critical environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for data-driven technical storytelling.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)​:

  • Experience supporting vehicle launch activities and working with manufacturing plants and service or brand quality organizations.
  • Experience with hardware and/or software diagnostics.
  • Experience utilizing AI/ML or LLMs to perform log analysis, anomaly detection, failure clustering, automated summarization and tool creation.
  • Understanding of vehicle architecture protocols and standards.

Compensation: 

The salary range for this role is $104,000 to $154,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
