Join Deloitte's Employer Health team as a Senior Consultant, Pharmacy Consulting, where you will advise employers and public-sector plan sponsors on pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) strategy, contracting, procurement, and financial performance. You will combine prescription drug benefits expertise with broader health and group benefits consulting to help clients make informed decisions, manage cost and risk, and implement benefit programs.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Consultant, Pharmacy Consulting on the Employer Health team, you will be responsible for:
  • Evaluate PBM contracts, deal terms, financial proposals, performance guarantees, and pricing arrangements
  • Lead or support PBM and health and welfare benefit requests for proposal (RFPs), including pricing analysis, vendor evaluation, negotiation, and implementation
  • Analyze pharmacy claims, utilization, and financial data; prepare self-insured financial projections; and support premium-rate, employee-contribution, and administrative-fee renewal decisions
  • Develop health and group benefits strategies, plan design recommendations, benchmarking analyses, and guidance on regulatory developments and compliance deadlines
  • Manage client projects and workstreams; prepare and present client-ready reports and presentations; partner with client Human Resources (HR) teams; and mentor junior team members

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of consulting or brokerage experience supporting United States (U.S.) health and welfare benefits programs
  • 5+ years of experience leading or supporting pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) requests for proposal (RFPs), including pricing analysis and vendor evaluation
  • 5 years' experience analyzing PBM contract financial components and performing health and welfare benefits underwriting beyond basic model use
  • 2 years of experience managing multiple concurrent client projects
  • Ability to travel 0-30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, finance, or data analytics
  • Experience working for a PBM
  • Experience supporting U.S. life, disability, and dental benefit programs
  • Experience supporting U.S. total rewards programs, including compensation and retirement
  • Experience using generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as Claude, to support benefits analysis, plan documentation, client communications, or process improvement
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $116,200 to $229,100.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
