Neurosciences Care Alberta (NCA) advances evidence-informed, data-driven practices to support high-quality, consistent care across Alberta. Reporting to the Program Lead, the Senior Consultant plays a key leadership role in advancing provincial priorities through system improvement, innovation, and strategic initiative delivery.Working independently and in collaboration with clinical, operational, and system partners, the Senior Consultant leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of complex, multi-site initiatives that improve access, quality, and patient outcomes across the neurosciences continuum.This role integrates quantitative and qualitative evidence, leading practices, and system insight to develop actionable recommendations and sustainable models of care. The Senior Consultant provides strategic advice to senior operational and clinical leaders, supports performance measurement and evaluation, and drives system-level change aligned with Health Services Delivery Provider (HSDP) priorities and provincial direction.
Description:

The Senior Consultant (SC):Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex provincial initiatives, integrating leading practices, system knowledge, and evidence to drive innovation and improved care delivery.Provides expert consulting and strategic advice to senior operational and clinical leaders, translating data and evidence into actionable recommendations and system-level solutions.Synthesizes quantitative and qualitative information to inform provincial strategies, care models, and priority initiatives across the continuum of neurosciences care.Leads the development of evaluation frameworks, including defining performance measures, targets, and outcomes to assess impact and support continuous improvement.Drives sustainable practice improvements by partnering with clinical and operational leaders to address system-level challenges and align solutions with HSDP priorities.Navigates the health system to coordinate resources, services, and expertise across programs, supporting integration and successful implementation of initiatives.Builds and influences strong partnerships across the continuum of care, enabling collaboration and alignment across diverse stakeholders.Applies expertise in quality improvement, change management, and project management to ensure initiatives are delivered effectively and sustained over time.Provides leadership in interpreting and communicating complex clinical performance data to support decision-making at the senior leadership level.Leads the delivery of strategic initiatives and produces high-quality reports, briefings, and other deliverables for executive audiences.

Required Qualifications:
A post-secondary degree aligned with NCA content areas (nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, epidemiology); Master's preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.Demonstrated ongoing professional and personal development.Understanding of Alberta's health care system and the continuum of care, including the complexities and inter relationships among different service providers and sectors within a Learning Health System. This understanding is key to identifying barriers, challenges and opportunities with the system. Minimum 5 years of experience leading, implementing, and evaluating provincial or multi corridor initiatives (preferably in neurosciences). Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects, manage competing timelines, adhere to firm deadlines, and work independently with limited supervision.
