Senior Construction Estimator
Position Responsibilities: - Partner with GREF stakeholders (planning, construction management, asset management, long-range business planning) to translate program requirements and project scopes into consistent cost assumptions and budgetary estimates
- Produce clear, timely and audience-appropriate reporting and presentations that summarize budget vs. forecast vs. actual performance, drivers of variance and implications for planning and negotiations
- Provide subject matter expertise for project negotiations, vendor/supplier bids and contract reviews to validate cost proposals and defend budget positions
- Lead post-completion cost reviews and lessons-learned reviews to refine estimating practices and update unit rates and assumptions for future cycles
- Maintain standardized estimating methodologies, unit rates, escalation indexes, contingency policies and cost libraries to ensure consistency, transparency, and defensibility of budget and forecast inputs
- Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess cost risk, evaluate funding alternatives, prioritize projects and support strategic decision making for trade-offs and phasing
- Maintain tools, templates and workflows (cost models, forecasting tools, dashboards) that improve accuracy, repeatability and transparency of construction budgeting processes
- Monitor market conditions, supply chain trends, labor dynamics and commodity pricing; translate market intelligence into updates to escalation assumptions, procurement strategies and negotiation positions
- Collaborate with Estimating Team on identifying cost trends, knowledge sharing and best practices to develop communicable data
- Coach and enable project teams and regional partners on cost-estimating best practices, budget stewardship and forecast discipline to improve portfolio-level outcomes
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator
- 5+ years of experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
- 5+ years of experience working on proposals and/or estimates
- 3+ years of experience developing and/or managing project schedules and budgets
- 3+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience in program management and/or financial management/analysis
- 5+ years of experience developing and presenting recommendations project management
- 5+ years of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data
- 3+ years of experience in working with project finances, forecasting construction budgets, or participating in go/no-go scenarios
- Experience with contract management, invoice management/reconciliation, and vendor management
- Experience in alternative bid delivery estimating such as Design-Build, CM/GC, & CMAR
