Full Job Description

This is a hands-on builder role supporting a major high-tech client in Mountain View, CA. The Senior Data Professional will design, build, launch, and maintain a connected suite of reporting tools for a global lab planning and front-end project delivery program. The role will turn fragmented intake and project information into reliable workflows, governed data, clear dashboards, and practical decision support. The successful candidate will also use large language models and other AI-assisted development tools to accelerate solution design, generate and refine scripts, troubleshoot formulas, document logic, and automate repeatable work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting suite. Design, build, and maintain the program reporting suite, including executive, portfolio, pipeline, workload, schedule, budget, risk, and service-performance views.
  • Intake and workflow tools. Create and improve tools that capture lab requests, support triage, track actions and decisions, and show progress from incoming through active and completed requests.
  • Client-native development. Build within the client-approved technology stack, using connected forms, spreadsheets, scripts, internal sites, and visualization tools rather than introducing unnecessary external platforms.
  • AI-assisted automation. Use large language models as a development accelerator to draft, refactor, troubleshoot, and document Google Apps Script, formulas, and related automation. Apply human review, testing, version control, and secure data-handling practices before deployment.
  • Workflow automation. Automate data collection, quality checks, approvals, status updates, notifications, refreshes, and recurring reporting across Google Workspace wherever practical.
  • Dashboarding and analysis. Translate program and portfolio data into clear, actionable visualizations that support leadership decisions and reduce the perceived “black hole” after intake.
  • Adoption and handoff. Produce user guides, data dictionaries, and support documentation; train users; and establish a practical maintenance model.
  • AI-enabled continuous improvement. Monitor usage and recurring pain points, identify high-value automation opportunities, and prototype AI-assisted enhancements within approved guardrails. Maintain a reusable library of prompts, code patterns, scripts, and technical documentation for the Data Solutions team.

  • Perform workload and team management such as QA/QC, fee proposals, and task management.
  • Reconcile invoices and change orders with GC, sub-contractors, and 3rd parties.
  • Perform Value Analysis.
  • Develop and nurture client relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Support senior management by providing needed reports and responding to inquiries for information.
  • Mentor estimating technicians, estimators and train in understanding divisions and construction technology.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated experience building connected solutions across Google Workspace, including Google Sheets, Forms, Sites, Apps Script, and connected business intelligence or dashboarding tools.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one visualization platform and the ability to apply sound data-visualization and information-design principles.
  • Working proficiency in Google Apps Script or JavaScript, plus SQL and Python or a comparable scripting language for data preparation, automation, testing, and integration.
  • Experience defining data models, data dictionaries, validation rules, and repeatable refresh or quality-control processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical audiences.
  • Construction, lab planning, project controls, real estate, or owner’s-representative experience is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated use of LLMs or AI coding assistants to generate, review, test, and document production scripts and workflow automations. Experience with prompt design, structured outputs, API integration, or retrieval-based solutions is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently.
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment.
  • Ability to understand contracts and specifications and review construction schedules.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Current up to date technology and software knowledge.
  • Proficient in excel.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience: 4-7 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting automation, product analytics, or a related field.
