Full Job Description
This position supports our workers' compensation line of business, Eastern Alliance, and is hybrid, reporting to our Lancaster PA or Carmel IN office locations approximately 2 days per month.
The Senior Compliance Specialist will oversee the compliance activities for all Eastern companies, including regulatory and financial compliance matters. This position will work closely with other departments within the Company to ensure all state regulatory and financial filings are completed on a timely basis. This position will have primary responsibility for communicating changes in compliance regulations with the appropriate departmental managers and supervisors.
What you'll do:
• 30% - Responsible for coordination and filing of all statutory financial filings, including quarterly and annual statutory financial filings with state insurance departments.
• 30% - Responsible for maintaining and updating compliance records related to each state, including state insurance licenses and related documentation. Maintenance includes annual renewal of licenses and other required state filings.
• 15% - Maintenance of compliance reporting system (Code Compliance), including monitoring for regulatory changes and communication of those changes to the appropriate departmental staff.
• 5% - Provide support to other departments with compliance research, addressing compliance issues, etc.
• 5% - Review and process regulatory invoices for payment.
• 5% - Assist Finance department with financial data calls as needed.
• 3% - Maintain OFAC procedures for each department.
• 3% - Handle insurance department complaints and maintain complaint log.
• 2% - File and maintain EDI Trading Partner Agreements.
• 2% - Section 111 Medicare Secondary Payer profile reports and recertifications.
What we're looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field with a minimum of four years progressive experience in compliance and/or legal field is required. Eight years of compliance/legal experience can replace the bachelor's degree requirement. Insurance regulatory/compliance experience preferred. Paralegal certification is a plus.
• Knowledgeable in various software packages required to provide effective office support, including Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization as well as with outside customers, vendors, and regulators.
• Critical thinking and basic analytical ability, to gather data and summarize for reports; find solutions to problems and
• prioritize work.
• Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and make informed judgements. Proficient in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

Position Salary Range
$76,208.00 - $125,756.00 The salary range displayed represents the entirety of the pay grade for this position. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
