SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer I that will be responsible for performing commissioning assignments requiring basic engineering principles in a construction environment, focusing on successful commissioning and completing specific tasks using prescribed methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviewing owner project requirements
  • Supporting scope reviews
  • Developing commissioning specifications
  • Creating commissioning plans, checklists, and tests for basic systems
  • Performing field visits and observing commissioning inspections and tests
  • Developing working relationships with contractors and assisting in resolving commissioning issues observed during testing
  • Writing issue descriptions, field reports, and final reports
  • Creating Systems Manuals
  • Effectively working and building relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Supporting planning and execution of system tests, including but not limited to NETA, SCADA, controls, and operations verification of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems
  • Performing all other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum four years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firm
  • Solid understanding of commissioning processes, construction documents, and their relationship to QA/QC and project management
  • Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office and data-based commissioning tools such as BIM360 or Cx Alloy
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Effective communication and active listening skills, including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Ability to travel up to 75%

The base pay range for this role is $158,900 - $238,400 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
