The Sr. Commercial Relationship Manager role leads high-value, high-complexity relationships and is accountable for significant revenue generation, portfolio health, and strategic market development. The Senior Relationship Manager serves as a primary advisor to executive leadership at client companies, originates and structures complex credit solutions, and provides leadership across relationship teams and product partners.
Essential Duties- Drives market strategy and business development; originate new relationships and expand share-of-wallet in targeted segments.
- Lead structuring and negotiation of complex credit solutions, including construction transactions and customized covenant packages as applicable.
- Set portfolio strategy and risk appetite for assigned relationships; oversee proactive management of criticized assets and complex renewals.
- Serve as executive sponsor for key relationships; build and maintain trusted-advisor status with owners, boards, and C-suite leaders.
- Coordinate multi-product, multi-disciplinary teams (treasury, capital markets, merchant/payments, specialty lending) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Relationship Managers/Associates; contribute to talent development, best practices, and process improvement.
- Ensure strong compliance culture and adherence to policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated expertise structuring and negotiating complex commercial credit facilities and leading internal credit approval processes.
- Strong track record of revenue growth, portfolio profitability, and credit quality outcomes.
- Deep understanding of commercial products (credit, deposits, treasury, payments) and ability to lead solution design across product partners.
- Exceptional client leadership, executive presence, negotiation skills, and ability to influence outcomes.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals assigned by the SVP Chief Business Officer or Business Banking Market President.
