Millennium Insurance is seeking a Senior Commercial Property Claims Examiner who will be responsible for managing complex commercial property claims, providing technical expertise, and supporting high-quality claims outcomes across the organization.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the assessment and management of large and complex commercial property claims.
  • Collaborate with policyholders, independent adjusters (IAs), contractors, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information and assess property damage accurately.
  • Critically review IA reports, estimates, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Interpret complex policy coverage and make sound liability and indemnity decisions.
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities where applicable.
  • Investigate and escalate suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims.
  • Prepare detailed coverage analyses, reports, and settlement recommendations.
  • Negotiate settlements confidently while balancing customer experience and company guidelines.
  • Ensure strict compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Maintain high-quality, audit-ready documentation across complex files and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior examiners.
  • Stay current with industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in claims management.

What you bring to the team

  • Minimum of five (5) years of commercial property claims experience
  • Field property adjusting experience is required
  • Xactimate experience is preferred
  • Post-secondary education and/or CIP/FCIP designation is an asset
  • Strong technical knowledge of property insurance coverage, policy interpretation, and claims investigation
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to manage high-value and complex claims independently and exercise sound judgement
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • High level of attention to detail and organization
