Senior Construction EstimatorPosition Summary The Senior Construction Estimator leads complex estimating efforts and supports strategic preconstruction activities for commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for producing high-quality estimates, mentoring junior estimators, and partnering with leadership to drive business development and project success.
Key Responsibilities - Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for complex commercial construction projects including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Review architectural plans, specifications, and project documentation to fully define scope and risk
- Conduct site visits and preconstruction assessments to inform estimating strategy
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, supporting bid development and proposal presentations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners
- Support business development efforts and contribute to winning new work
- Utilize advanced estimating tools and methodologies for cost modeling, forecasting, and budgeting
- Analyze historical cost data and market trends to improve estimate accuracy
- Lead contract review and support negotiations to align project scope and financial expectations
- Partner closely with project management and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoff
- Mentor and support development of junior estimators and contribute to process improvements
- Stay current on industry trends, materials, and construction technologies
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of construction estimating experience
- Strong expertise in commercial construction methods, materials, and project delivery
- Advanced proficiency in estimating tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, CompanyCam, or similar
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities
Compensation $95,000 • $115,000 annually
Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions
