Job Description:

Responsible for providing a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patients' experiences. This position collaborates with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain clinical applications and associated systems. Additionally, this role utilizes knowledge of clinical practice, computer science, and information technology to manage data and determine suitable components for system build. In addition, this position coordinates with physicians and end users to analyze and document clinical workflows, perform gap analysis, identify needed process changes, and develop future workflows during the implementation of new solutions. Ensures effective communication with all levels of hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff.
  • Leads the design, build, testing, training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of clinical applications and associated systems.
  • Collaborates with clinicians and end users to develop electronic documentation solutions that support clinical workflow and practice.
  • Utilizes knowledge of clinical practice, computer science, and information technology to manage data and determine suitable components for system build.
  • Analyzes and documents clinical workflows, performs gap analysis, identifies needed process changes, and develops future workflows during the implementation of new solutions.
  • Communicates changes made in the application to team members and stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains system design documentation and outlines build steps using appropriate tools.
  • Collaborates with hospital leadership, physicians, clinicians, end users, vendors, and associates to develop and deploy electronic applications or new functionality.
  • Proactively assesses clinical workflow processes, identifies gaps, defines necessary process changes, and develops future workflows related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality.
  • Plans and coordinates special projects using project management skills, tools, and methodologies.
  • Prepares training materials and provides education on new applications or functionality.
  • Conducts train-the-trainer, super-user, upgrade, and/or other training.
  • Takes a lead role in facility support through solution implementation, activation, and post-live support.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience with leading small groups or projects [Required]
  • Mentoring/training experience [Preferred]
  • Microsoft Office suite experience [Preferred]

Education:
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]

Field of Study:
  • Nursing

Work Experience:
  • 3+ clinical/technical background [Required]
  • 3+ experience with clinical/technical system application implementation with required. [Required]

Additional Information:

An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:
  • Bachelor's Degree OR 7+ years of experience in related field
  • Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations.
