This Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/Bridge Construction Engineer (EIT)to join our team in Jacksonville or Gainesville, FL. Are you an ambitious Engineer-in-Training (EIT) looking to advance your career in transportation infrastructure and bridge construction? We are seeking a highly motivated civil engineering professional with a passion for delivering safe, innovative, and high-quality infrastructure projects.

About the Opportunity

Join a dynamic transportation and bridge team where you will contribute to the planning, design, construction oversight, and delivery of major roadway and bridge projects. This role offers exposure to multidisciplinary engineering challenges and opportunities to work alongside industry-leading engineers, contractors, consultants, and transportation agencies.
Your Impact
  • Provide construction-phase engineering support for major bridge and structural projects.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation for compliance with AASHTO, ACI, PCI, AWS, and DOT standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, geotechnical engineers, consultants, contractors, and quality assurance teams.
  • Conduct field inspections and site visits for critical construction activities including pile driving, structural steel erection, and bridge construction operations.
  • Support bridge design, structural analysis, load rating evaluations, and specification development.
  • Assist with roadway design, drainage analysis, hydraulic modeling, and transportation project delivery.
  • Contribute to quality assurance programs, construction guides, and best-practice initiatives.
  • Provide technical solutions that ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive experience in transportation, bridge, roadway, or construction engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, ACI, PCI, AWS, MUTCD, and state DOT standards.
  • Experience with construction inspection, materials testing, quality assurance, and project coordination.
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, CONSPAN, Mathcad, AASHTOWARE, HY-8, StreamStats, and similar tools.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder coordination skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bridge construction and structural engineering support.
  • Roadway design and transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Drainage and hydraulic analysis.
