As a Senior Buyer within Siemens Smart Infrastructure's Electrical Products (EP) business, you will drive material availability and purchasing execution for our Fort Worth, Texas manufacturing operation. Based on-site at our manufacturing facility, you will interpret Material Requirements Planning (MRP) signals, manage purchase orders and supplier commitments, resolve complex material risks, and provide purchasing direction that protects production continuity. You will also guide the Buyer while partnering with planning, production, receiving, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to strengthen supply performance.

You will make an impact by:
  • Interpreting Material Requirements Planning (MRP) signals, demand changes, lead times, inventory requirements, and exception messages to make timely purchasing decisions.
  • Managing purchase orders and supplier commitments for production materials while protecting manufacturing schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Leading supplier follow-up and material-expediting activities, including pull-ins, push-outs, cancellations, backorders, and recovery plans for at-risk materials.
  • Analyzing purchasing and material master data, including minimum order quantities, safety stocks, lead times, and purchasing information records, to improve planning accuracy and supply continuity.
  • Escalating supplier performance issues and coordinating corrective actions that improve material availability, delivery reliability, and inventory performance.
  • Providing direction to the Buyer by reviewing purchasing priorities, interpreting MRP requirements, and supporting resolution of complex material issues.
  • Coordinating with production, planning, procurement, receiving, accounts payable, and suppliers to resolve shortages, Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GR/IR) discrepancies, and purchase order issues.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Five+ years of direct purchasing or buying experience, depending on the depth, complexity, and relevance of the experience.
  • Demonstrated manufacturing or production purchasing experience supporting the flow of materials into a manufacturing facility.
  • Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), including the ability to interpret MRP signals, exception messages, demand changes, lead times, and inventory requirements.
  • Experience placing and managing purchase orders, following up with suppliers, expediting materials, and managing pull-ins, push-outs, cancellations, and revised delivery commitments.
  • Experience resolving material shortages, supplier delivery risks, backorders, purchase order issues, or other exceptions affecting production.
  • Proficiency with SAP or another enterprise resource planning, purchasing, inventory, or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, for purchasing analysis, reporting, and data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, prioritize material risks, and provide clear direction and recovery recommendations.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site at the Siemens Smart Infrastructure manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge of SAP purchasing, MRP, supplier scheduling, inventory management, or material master data functionality.
  • Experience providing direction, coaching, or day-to-day guidance to buyers, purchasing specialists, or other materials team members.
  • Experience purchasing electrical, mechanical, electronic, or other production components in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with supplier negotiations, sourcing activities, supplier performance management, inventory optimization, or cost-reduction initiatives in addition to direct purchasing execution.
  • Experience resolving Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GR/IR) discrepancies and coordinating with receiving, accounts payable, planning, and production teams.
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in supply chain management, business, operations, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Engineering experience or technical knowledge related to electrical products, manufacturing processes, materials, or production operations.
  • Association for Supply Chain Management Certified Supply Chain Professional (APICS CSCP) or Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification.
  • A combination of education and directly related work experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.

The pay range for this position is 65,660 - 112,560 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
