Job Description

Position Summary:
The Senior Buyer Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing and business operations. This position is also responsible for coordinating domestic and international logistics, including managing inbound and outbound shipments with transportation providers and logistics partners. The role supports Field Service personnel and customer system deliveries by ensuring the timely availability of materials and equipment. The Senior Buyer Manager coordinates vendor documentation, including supplier drawings and engineering revisions, and works with subcontract manufacturers to implement approved changes. This position is also responsible for managing inventory levels to support production schedules while maintaining inventory accuracy and minimizing excess inventory.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Procure direct and indirect materials, components, equipment, and services to support production schedules, engineering activities, and operational requirements while ensuring continuity of supply.
• Generate and manage purchase orders for production inventory and indirect expense requisitions in accordance with company procurement policies and ERP system requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership and engineering to forecast material requirements, monitor supplier capacity, and proactively mitigate potential supply disruptions.
• Collaborate with Engineering to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for new and existing components, balancing cost, quality, lead time, manufacturability, and long-term supply chain availability.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, contracts, and long-term supply agreements with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
• Develop, maintain, and execute long-term procurement and sourcing strategies to ensure supplier continuity, mitigate supply chain risks, optimize total cost of ownership, and support the organization's operational and strategic objectives.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, process improvements, and strategic sourcing initiatives while maintaining product quality and supply continuity.
• Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness, and implement corrective actions when performance objectives are not met.
• Support Supplier Quality initiatives by assisting in the qualification, evaluation, and maintenance of the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
• Partner with Receiving Inspection, Quality, Engineering, and suppliers to resolve incoming material discrepancies, drive corrective actions, and coordinate supplier returns (RMA) and replacement activities for nonconforming material.
• Review and coordinate the disposition of supplier-related deviations and nonconforming materials identified during receiving inspection, working with Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate domestic and international logistics activities to support manufacturing operations, field service requirements, customer installations, and product deliveries.
• Prepare and review all required shipping and export documentation, including packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, export declarations, and other import/export compliance documentation as applicable.
• Perform periodic inventory audits and cycle count reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy and alignment between physical inventory and ERP system records.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and purchasing metrics to support internal audits, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives


Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Great Plains and Microsoft Office highly preferred
• Ability to prioritize and multitask with excellent organizational skills to meet business objectives
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
