Full Job Description
Are you an experienced procurement professional with expertise in subcontract and fabrication purchasing? Join Dürr's Shared Services Purchasing team and play a key role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing subcontract and fabrication packages that support complex industrial automation and manufacturing projects.

In this role, you'll partner closely with Engineering, Project Management, Site Management, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle. From preparing bid packages and negotiating contracts to supporting project execution, you'll help deliver successful projects while making a direct impact on cost, quality, and schedule.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the complete subcontract procurement process from receipt of engineering documentation through subcontract award and change order management.
  • Generate project subcontract documentation, including Owner Specifications, Owner Terms & Conditions, Dürr Terms & Conditions, Site-Specific Requirements, Compatibility Information, and other required project documentation.
  • Investigate and qualify mechanical and electrical subcontractors for engineering, fabrication, and installation packages.
  • Coordinate, chair, and document Bid Package review meetings.
  • Assemble bid package documentation, create pricing sheets and installation schedules, and distribute bid packages to bidders.
  • Coordinate responses to bidder questions throughout the bid cycle.
  • Review subcontractor proposals and prepare pricing comparison summaries.
  • Coordinate and document clarification meetings with prospective subcontractors.
  • Negotiate final pricing and commercial terms.
  • Document pre-award requirements, obtain required approvals, and create Purchase Orders in SAP.
  • Coordinate periodic follow-up meetings with Site Managers and subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontract claims, change orders, notices of default, and related contract administration activities.
  • Maintain complete and auditable procurement documentation, including RFQs, quotations, approvals, purchase orders, authorizations, and related project files.
  • Attend and support project meetings.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of three (3) years of subcontract purchasing experience within an equipment installation, fabrication, or construction environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline may be considered in lieu of purchasing experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, including plan layouts and sectional drawings.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of independently executing responsibilities and solving problems in a professional manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience utilizing AI for quote analysis, cost analysis, or pricing matrix generation is preferred.
  • Basic Power BI knowledge is a plus.
  • General understanding of construction and installation requirements within automotive and non-automotive industries, including installation sequencing.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support project activities (less than 20%, including local, overnight, domestic, and occasional international travel).
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed to support project schedules and business requirements.
