Senior Buyer

CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill an existing vacancy in the role of SeniorBuyer.

Purpose

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for selecting and developing vendors/suppliers based on quality, price, logistics, capacity and performance, negotiating price and terms with suppliers and actively looking for ways to reduce costs while securing the best parts and services for the assembly of our products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Procure parts and components for production needs in accordance with production plan and forecast
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of vendors who can deliver services, material and components that comply with the Company's quality standards
  • Negotiate prices and terms with vendors and when appropriate assist in binding Master Service Agreements (MSA's) and Partner Supplier Agreements (PSA'S)
  • Communicate relevant information to your internal stakeholders and support them in their projects, budgets and planning
  • Create and drive solutions to improve the on-time-delivery (OTD) and Cost Saving initiatives
  • Accurately communicate, understand and generate KPI's with current and up to date tools
  • Generate continuous improvements within in Supply Chain collaborating with all business unit Leaders, utilizing policies and procedures
  • Assist in organizing and supporting Partners in compliance with our Supplier Qualification and Evaluation Process
  • Provide feedback and work with the Stakeholders supporting sustainability within CPC and our Supply Chain Team
  • Produce cast components (e.g., sand, foam, continuous, investment castings) according to engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain casting processes such as molding, core making, melting, pouring, heat treatment, and machining.
  • Ensure tooling design and development aligns with dimensional and quality expectations.
  • Support manufacturability assessments (DFM) with engineering teams.

Education and/or Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of purchasing experience
  • Experience purchasing raw materials, purchased components in a manufacturing environment
  • Pumps and Compressors experience is an asset
  • Understanding of metal casting processes (sand and investment) and materials (ASTM) is an asset
  • Understanding of MSA's and PSA's is an asset

  • Office environment involves sedentary work with repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy

The expected compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 CAD per year. The final compensation may vary due to factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. If your qualifications differ from those listed above, the scope of work and final compensation may be different.
