The Discretionary Trading area is responsible for trading controls and exception oversight for the firm's advisory programs. This is a fast-paced environment where you have the opportunity to influence the future of our work and of the firm's Investment Advisory Platforms.
What You'll Do:- Lead area planning and coordination to ensure process and controls are in place to mitigate risk for the firm/client, maintain regulatory compliance, and prepare for business continuity.
- Create and modify appropriate controls and WSPs to maintain strong control environment as enhancements are delivered. Address risk through continuous evaluation and improvement.
- Influence design of CWO and digital changes to ensure appropriate data is assessable to build and maintain effective completeness controls.
- Partner with area leaders to translate strategy of Firm Priorities deliverables to execution.
- Leverage data for insights, reporting, and control design to inform business decisions and proactively mitigate risk.
- Determine appropriate workflows as a result of qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Act as subject matter expert in assigned product area(s) of emphasis.
- Provides feedback, coaching, training, and guidance to help develop other associates; takes a leadership role in the development of new associates/interns; and may lead other associates.
- Plan, lead, and execute projects, enhancements, and processes including the launch of new products or product partners, enhancements to existing tools and systems, and high-visibility firm priorities.
- Act as technical consultant with business and product leaders from multiple divisions and with varying levels of influence. Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and help mobilize strategy.
- Implement process improvement and efficiency opportunities throughout department.
- Thoroughly understand, analyze, and appropriately communicate the issues from multiple stakeholder points of view to conclude the best possible outcome for clients, branches, product partners/vendors, and the firm.
- Maintain strong relationships with multiple product teams to influence effort prioritization to help drive the optimal strategy for the area.
What Experience You'll Need:- Bachelors degree or advanced degree preferred.
- SIE and Series 99 required within 89 days of start date (US); Series 7 required within 12 months of start date (US). Outside the US, appropriate country-specific licenses required.
- Generally, 7 years of experience working with tools/systems, and/or project experience in product or financial services industry or combination of experience and education.
- Strong project management, business system analysis and/or Information Systems (IS) experience needed.
- Critical thinking skills and sound judgment are required in order to know when to seek assistance from another subject matter expert, leader, or Partner.
**Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**Salary InformationEdward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage.
