Full Job Description

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer develops tools, technologies and/or applications used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present Stars related data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will partner with stakeholders, gather, scope requirements, and provide consultation regarding the best technical approach for projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and implement Power BI reports as well as semantic models in a star schema fashion

  • Author SQL queries to support Power BI modeling as well as audit results in Power BI to ensure accuracy.

  • Create visualizations and reports sometimes based on UX Designer mockups, and others based verbal descriptions provided.

  • Work with the business stakeholders to understand the various problems and develop solutions to resolve them.

  • Evaluate and improve existing BI dashboards and solutions where appropriate

  • Work collaboratively with teammates to apply best practices related data and reporting with a focus on cloud platforms, but not excluding on premises architecture

  • Collaborate with peers and share technical knowledge in an effort to elevate the team as a whole.

  • Develop and document solutions related to deployed

  • Ensure solutions provide the highest quality of data, verified during testing and signed off by stakeholders prior to deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis, report design and development

  • In-depth experience with Power BI

  • High level skills in SQL authoring and analysis

  • Experience with advanced functions in Excel

  • Experience working with large complex data sets

  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and creating data visualizations that drive strategic direction

  • Comfortable presenting to senior and executive leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Power BI Certification

  • Other data related industry leading certification(s)

  • Advanced Degree in quantitative disciplines, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data

  • Advanced in SQL

  • Familiar with JSON data navigation and transformation.

  • Experience working with data in/on the databricks platform

  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

  • Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$89,000 - $121,400 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
