Full Job Description
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer helps solve complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insights for decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer determines the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data to create insightful and actionable business information.

The Risk Adjustment Prospective Provider Programs organization delivers a portfolio of products to enable physicians to provide optimal patient care and improve the accuracy of their clinical documentation. The products are a mix of in-house and vended solutions, with an eye toward growth of analytics-driven and interoperable solutions.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer owns the reporting and analytics capabilities for Provider Programs related to one of these portfolio offerings. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer would evaluate the existing capabilities and own the transformation in uniformity and structure into the future.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer helps solve complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insights for decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer determines the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data to create insightful and actionable business information.

  • Develop healthcare analytics visualizations based on stakeholder requests and intake
  • Work collaboratively with teammates to optimally apply data warehouse, cloud and BI architecture, and visualization techniques
  • Work collaboratively across the team and organization to design, build and maintain analytical solutions to support Provider Programs
  • Build and maintain robust data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, such as SQL databases, Excel, and cloud platforms.
  • Maintain documentation for developed solutions, including data models, workflows, and user guides.
  • Be a strategic, data-driven collaborator to advance the business and provide next best actions

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 6 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 4 or more years of experience
  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience
  • Advanced experience in Databricks and/or other data systems
  • Experience with Power BI and/or other data visualization tools
  • Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs
  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
  • Demonstrated excellence in problem solving/critical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous time-sensitive deliverables
  • Proficiency in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data trends

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Advanced experience in SQL Server, Azure, Databricks, and other data systems
  • Advanced expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
  • Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
  • Experience with Stars or HEDIS


Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$89,000 - $121,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
