Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. Job Overview

We're looking for a strategic and collaborative Senior Business Development Specialist to help strengthen our national Business Development approach and support profitable growth across regions.

As a trusted advisor to leaders and regional teams, you'll turn business priorities and performance data into practical strategies, tools, and insights that improve sales effectiveness and broker engagement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with leaders and regional teams to align regional activities with national priorities.
  • Sales Enablement: Lead the development and rollout of sales playbooks, tools, processes, and training that support profitable growth.
  • Performance Insights: Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that identify opportunities and support informed decision-making.
  • Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional Business Development initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Process Improvement: Improve Business Development processes, systems, and governance to create greater consistency and accountability.
  • Capability Building: Provide guidance, resources, and expertise that strengthen Business Development capabilities across the organization.


Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in insurance, business development, sales enablement, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience translating data into actionable business insights.
  • A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with Power BI, Salesforce, underwriting, or performance improvement is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian P&C insurance industry and broker distribution model is considered an asset.
  • CIP designation or relevant post-secondary education is considered an asset.
