This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who has operated in the fintech banking ecosystem for years, brings an established network of relationships across fintech executives, capital markets participants, and industry intermediaries, and is prepared to independently source and close partnerships with growth-stage and enterprise-scale fintechs. This is a builder's role. Hatch operates as a lean, high-autonomy organization. The SVP will be expected to self-source pipeline intelligence, lead negotiations, and move opportunities from first meeting through executed term sheet. The right candidate sees that environment as an advantage, not a constraint.
The Senior BDO will work closely with the CRO, President, and Credit Risk leadership on deal structuring, program economics, and capital markets execution.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Partnership Origination & Deal Execution- Source, identify, and engage prospective fintech partners within Hatch's ideal client profile, with a focus on growth-stage and enterprise-scale credit fintechs
- Lead executive-level first meetings with fintech CFOs, Founders, General Counsels, and Heads of Capital Markets; position Hatch's value proposition around institutional durability, structural flexibility, product capabilities, and capital markets execution
- Own the business development process from initial engagement through term sheet execution, including enhanced due diligence, fintech underwriting, and economic modeling of prospective programs
- Proactively handle competitive objections in sponsor bank selection processes; articulate Hatch's compliance posture, charter capabilities, and program economics with confidence and nuance
- Develop and maintain a disciplined pipeline of prospective partnerships informed by market intelligence, trigger events, and direct relationship development
Capital Markets Engagement- Build and maintain desk-level relationships with forward-flow buyers, warehouse lenders, and structured finance groups to position Hatch as a preferred originating bank
- Engage intelligently in discussions of whole-loan sale, forward-flow, warehouse facility, and asset-backed securitization structures alongside the CRO and Credit Risk leadership
- Leverage capital markets relationships as a pull channel - ensuring that ABS investors and private credit participants influence fintech counterparties toward Hatch
Market Presence & Relationship Development- Represent Hatch Bank at industry conferences, fintech events, and capital markets forums as a senior representative of the institution
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with centers of influence including law firms, fintech consultants, processors, card networks, and investor groups that drive qualified referral activity
- Serve as a visible, credible external voice for Hatch in the credit fintech ecosystem
Strategic Advisory- Advise the CRO on market positioning, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities in the fintech lending and BaaS landscape
- Contribute to the evaluation of program economics, fee structures, and partnership terms for new and existing relationships
- Support the CRO and executive team in board-level reporting and strategic planning as it relates to partnership acquisition and revenue growth
OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Assist in partner implementation alongside the Head of Implementation as needed

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Flexible and willing to travel to industry conferences, prospect meetings, and capital markets participants. Air travel expected.
- The incumbent will be expected to operate a computer terminal.
POTENTIAL ON-THE-JOB RISKS:EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Required- Minimum 5-7 years of direct experience in business development, partnership origination, or a senior commercial role at a fintech sponsor bank or a scaled credit fintech with a sponsor bank relationship
- Deep fluency in credit fintech program structures, sponsor bank economics, and the regulatory and compliance obligations inherent to bank-fintech partnerships, including familiarity with the bank's role in program oversight, product design, and risk management
- Demonstrated ability to engage at the executive level with fintech leadership - CFOs, General Counsels, Heads of Capital Markets - on matters of program structure, economics, and capital markets integration
- Working knowledge of capital markets structures relevant to fintech lending programs, including loan sale agreements, forward-flow arrangements, warehouse facilities, and asset-backed securitization
- Established network of relationships across the fintech banking ecosystem - fintech operators, bank partnership teams, capital markets desks, law firms, and industry intermediaries - that can be activated to generate pipeline from day one
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent Hatch credibly in executive conversations, at conferences, and in written correspondence
- Comfort operating in a lean, high-autonomy environment where self-direction, intellectual honesty, and personal accountability are expected
Preferred- Direct experience at a fintech sponsor bank in a business development, partnerships, or commercial role with exposure to scaled lending programs
- Experience across multiple credit verticals - unsecured consumer, secured consumer, commercial/SMB, or specialty lending
- Familiarity with the competitive landscape of fintech sponsor banks and the ability to position against peers in a bank selection process
- Experience structuring or negotiating program agreements, term sheets, or loan sale arrangements in a bank-fintech context
- Exposure to the regulatory examination process and comfort discussing supervisory matters with sophistication
Pay Range: Hatch Bank demonstrates fair, competitive, and market-based compensation for our employees. The compensation for this role includes a base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 as well as eligibility for attractive variable incentive compensation based on new business development. The pay range may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
