Senior Bridge Engineer will support infrastructure detailed design for our bridge team. The bridge team works collaboratively with our divisional team across
Ontario. Key Responsibilities:- Leading in producing engineering products for bridge rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction to meet customer quality requirements.
- Complete detailed structural design calculations and analysis.
- Work independently and as part of a team to define problems, establish work scope, prepare budgets and schedules, plan the work, and provide technical direction and oversight.
- Prepare and check detailed engineering models, drawings, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Develop and review designs for new bridges and bridge rehabilitation.
- Provide expertise and services related to the evaluation, inspection, and rehabilitation of transportation structures.
- Review cost estimates, specifications, and tender documents prepared by junior engineers.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments, including highway, foundation, environmental, drainage, and electrical.
- Maintain effective working relationships with clients.
- Perform project management duties, including assembling and managing project teams, controlling budgets and schedules, ensuring quality control, and managing client interactions.
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and less experienced Engineers.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Qualifications- Bachelor or Master degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive design experience for MTO and municipalities projects involves steel and concrete bridge structures in Ontario.
- Must be able to lead detailed design and contract preparation together with team member and as self-directed manner.
- Proficient user of structural analysis software (Midas and CSiBridge).
- Sound and in-depth knowledge in MTO standards and policies, Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA-S6), AASHTO and ARIMA Codes.
- Ability to provide construction liaison and act as Contract Administrator.
- Ability to review and sign-off of technical design reports.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Sound understanding of other disciplines scope and ability to liaise.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
