About the Role

The Senior Coordinator – Revenue Operations is an integral part of Latham’s Practice Office Revenue Operations team. This role will be responsible for strategically managing inventory and revenue cycle activities and assisting the firm in achieving its financial targets through the delivery of an efficient and commercially focused service, while formulating and providing innovative, commercially focused solutions to improve the management, engagement, and performance of the revenue lifecycle for the relevant office or practice group, exercising sound judgement and strategic discretion to minimize exposure to locked-up inventory and to mitigate financial and reputational risk. This role will be located in our San Diego office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the revenue lifecycle for a group of billing attorneys or matters, ensuring compliance with applicable court requirements and filing deadlines, acting as a trusted adviser and primary point of contact, establishing and maintaining strong internal and external client relationships, and constructively influencing billing behavior and outcomes
  • Establishing frequent communication with billing attorneys, attorney support, and other stakeholders to discuss work‑in‑progress (WIP) & accounts receivable (AR), determine appropriate courses of action, and reduce inventory days
  • Ensuring compliance of all processes and systems throughout the revenue lifecycle with relevant internal and external regulation and legislation, including Value‑Added Tax (VAT), Criminal Finances Act Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, and money laundering regulations, while proactively identifying and mitigating associated risk
  • Mentoring Revenue Operations team members to create and maintain a high‑quality, punctual service for the office or practice group, and maintaining regular communication with team members to assist with team development
  • Promoting best practice for matter maintenance to ensure the judicious conversion of work in progress (WIP) to cash, including the accurate opening and timely closure of matters, effective use of billed on account (BOA), and the strategic management of inventory, while exercising discretion to advise on appropriate write‑offs and clearly articulating the financial and business rationale supporting those recommendations
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting
  • A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative professional experience
