This position is contingent upon contract award and position availability.

This position is hybrid and based in Lanham, MD. The selected candidate will be expected to work on-site as required by the business. It requires the ability to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conduct requirements gathering and perform analysis to define functional specifications and technical needs.
- Develop software components using established programming, scripting, and/or database languages, ensuring alignment to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot moderately complex issues, resolve defects, and support testing, deployment, and enhancement activities.
- Participate in code reviews, adhere to source control practices, and contribute to improving team development processes.
- Recommend enhancements or adjustments to systems and processes within the job area.

Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise reporting and analytics solutions using SAP BusinessObjects and Tableau.

- Develop and support SAP BusinessObjects reports, universes, semantic layers, queries, publications, and related reporting assets.

- Design, publish, and optimize Tableau dashboards, visualizations, data sources, extracts, and reporting workbooks.

- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and reporting requirements, including source-to-report mappings, business rules, calculations, and acceptance criteria.

- Develop, optimize, and reconcile reporting datasets, SQL queries, semantic models, and analytics solutions using Databricks, MongoDB, Amazon Redshift, and other approved data sources.

- Perform data profiling, validation, reconciliation, testing, troubleshooting, defect remediation, and performance tuning to ensure reporting accuracy, reliability, and data quality.

- Create and maintain requirements specifications, technical documentation, traceability artifacts, deployment documentation, and operational support materials while maintaining traceability from business requirements through data sources, transformations, calculations, visualizations, testing, and acceptance.

- Follow project SDLC, reporting standards, source-control practices, peer-review procedures, testing requirements, release controls, and documentation standards.

- Design BI solutions that are accurate, usable, accessible, secure, performant, supportable, and aligned with approved architecture and data-governance practices.

- Coordinate with business owners, data stewards, architects, database developers, ETL teams, cybersecurity personnel, testers, platform administrators, and operations staff to support successful solution delivery and ongoing operations.

- Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, data issues, decisions, and delivery impacts clearly to technical, business, project, and executive stakeholders.

Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Four additional years of related experience may substitute for the degree.

- Experience delivering or supporting production BI solutions in a complex enterprise environment.

- Candidate must meet contract work-authorization requirements and maintain the required IRS Moderate Risk Minimum Background Investigation clearance.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team with minimal supervision.

- Three (3) or more years of relevant business intelligence, reporting, analytics, or data-visualization development experience.

- Advanced hands-on experience developing SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence reports and universes using Information Design Tool or Universe Design Tool.

- Advanced hands-on experience developing Tableau dashboards, workbooks, calculations, parameters, filters, actions, published data sources, and extracts.

- Advanced SQL skills and experience analyzing data in relational databases and enterprise data warehouses, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redshift, or comparable platforms.

- Experience with dimensional modeling, semantic-layer design, fact and dimension structures, reporting aggregates, data reconciliation, and performance optimization.

- Experience translating complex business and technical requirements into clear dashboards, reports, metrics, and executive-ready visualizations.

- Working knowledge of role-based access control, row-level security, data protection, audit logging, secure development, and federal reporting expectations.

- Experience with source control, release management, defect tracking, automated or repeatable testing, and controlled migration of BI assets across environments.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, time-management, and stakeholder-collaboration skills.

- Hands-on experience developing reporting solutions from Databricks, MongoDB, and Amazon Redshift data sources, including relational, nested, and semi-structured data.

- Experience creating formal business and technical requirements specification documents, source-to-report mappings, metric definitions, traceability matrices, testable acceptance criteria, and stakeholder-ready documentation.

- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 3+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

- SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, or Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification.

- Experience with IRS business systems, Information Returns data, federal financial or operational reporting, and audit or compliance reporting.

- Experience with Amazon Redshift, Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, Databricks, SAP BusinessObjects administration concepts, Tableau Server, and cloud-hosted analytics environments.

- Knowledge of data cataloging, lineage, metadata management, data quality, accessibility, and visualization-design best practices.

- Experience modernizing legacy reports, consolidating duplicate reporting capabilities, and transitioning reporting workloads between BI platforms.

- Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).

- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
