Position Description: CGI is seeking a Senior AWS Security Architect to lead information security strategy across our cloud environments. This role owns the security posture of AWS based systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise security policies, industry frameworks (NIST, OWASP), and regulatory standards.
This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Birmingham, AL
Your future duties and responsibilities: You'll work across multiple concurrent projects, partnering closely with product owners, enterprise architects, and engineering teams to build secure, compliant, and resilient cloud infrastructure. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who thrives on solving complex security challenges in fast moving, high scale AWS environments - and who can operate independently as a security subject matter expert while influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 8+ hands on background with AWS services - compute, IAM, RDS, networking, messaging, data storage, CI/CD, ECS/EKS, and serverless; bonus points if you've worked with AI/ML or ETL pipelines
. Solid grounding in AWS security best practices and the AWS Well Architected Framework
. Real experience with application security, API security, and threat modeling - you should be comfortable identifying risks and building out mitigating controls, not just checking boxes
. Working knowledge of DevSecOps and pipeline security, including securing CI/CD workflows
. Comfort with identity and access management (AuthN/AuthZ), encryption, and key management practices
. Familiarity with SIEM, CSPM, and CWPP tooling, plus container security fundamentals
. Practical understanding of industry frameworks and standards - OWASP, NIST, CIS, FedRAMP, ISO, and SOX
. Systems level thinking: API driven systems, stateless architectures, high availability, resiliency, and SaaS integrations
. A track record of threat modeling using established industry methodologies, including evaluating security controls for AI driven platforms
. Self starter mentality - comfortable juggling multiple projects and stakeholders without heavy oversight
Desired Skillset:
. AWS Professional or Specialty certification, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent credential
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $155,900.00 $175,400.00.
