Job Title: Senior AWS Java Full Stack Developer
Location: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC, Birmingham, AL
Type: Direct Hire
Responsibilities - Build and enhance cloud native applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, and AWS, covering the full software development lifecycle.
- Develop backend microservices and modern web applications in a cloud environment.
- Implement automated testing and support CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable deployment.
- Ensure applications are resilient, observable, secure, and maintainable.
- Collaborate closely with a small team of experienced developers in AWS-heavy environments.
- Utilize Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Python, and AI assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to increase productivity.
- Take ownership of development work from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Contribute to troubleshooting, optimization, and production support activities.
- Follow agile/scrum methodologies and translate business requirements into functional software.
- Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable enterprise applications, with financial services experience preferred.
Requirements - 5+ years of professional software development experience with advanced Java skills.
- Strong backend development experience using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on full stack development experience with Angular and TypeScript.
- Proven experience developing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Solid Python development skills for automation, application development, or supporting services.
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, git workflows, and automated deployment practices.
- Experience with comprehensive testing (unit, integration, automated tests) and focusing on software quality.
- Understanding of application resiliency, performance monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Familiarity with AI assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot.
- Proven ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and independent development drive.
- Ability to work within a small, high-velocity team, with individual ownership.
- Experience developing secure, reliable enterprise applications; financial services experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
