Full Job Description
Wiss is seeking an experienced Senior Assurance Associate to join our growing Assurance Practice in Florham Park, NJ. This position will work closely with clients across the construction industry, taking a key role in executing audit and assurance engagements while developing strong technical, client service, and leadership skills.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Execute audit and assurance engagements for construction clients from planning through completion.
  • Prepare and review audit workpapers, financial statements, and disclosures in accordance with GAAP and GAAS.
  • Perform audit procedures including testing of cash, fixed assets, debt, revenue, expenses, accounts receivable/payable, and other significant accounts.
  • Gain exposure to construction-specific accounting matters, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, contract revenue recognition, retainage, and project profitability.
  • Evaluate internal controls and identify potential risks or areas for improvement related to financial reporting and project accounting processes.
  • Communicate directly with clients to obtain information, resolve questions, and support the completion of engagements.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating engagement activities to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Review work prepared by Associates and provide guidance and feedback as needed.
  • Develop strong client relationships while gaining exposure to a variety of construction companies and contracting businesses.
  • Identify and communicate accounting or audit issues to engagement leadership.

Qualifications & Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
