We are seeking a Senior Associate Technologist to assess and reduce risks associated with R&D test stands and machinery while ensuring compliance with safety standards and risk management processes. This role develops preventive maintenance plans, supports safe test stand design and layout, works with cross-functional teams to plan and execute testing activities, and manages facility storage assets to support safe, efficient operations.

What You Will Do:

• Perform analysis on machinery risk level in alignment with the risk management process.
• Perform analysis for test stand risk level in accordance with ANSI B11.0.
• Work with test cell owners to evaluate risk level and mitigation strategies for test stand systems.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules for test stand systems.
• Provide test stand designs and layouts that conform to established safety standards.
• Work with a diverse team of mechanical designers, PLC programmers, project coordinators, and facility engineers to plan and build tests in a research and development environment.
• Manage storage assets for an R&D test facility.
• An understanding of the risk management process.
• Experience in Drivetrain Test Facility Operations to include publishing standard work and planning preventive maintenance.

Degree Requirement

Degree or equivalent experience desired

What You Will Have:

Information Capture: Working knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.

Standard Operating Procedures: Working knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Working knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.

Top Candidates will also have:

• Experience in operations at a research and development facility.

• Experience conducting risk management.

• Experience working with suppliers to procure test stand equipment.

• Ability to manage your time, set, and achieve your goals.

Additional Information:

• This position requires the selected candidate to work on-site five days a week in Mossville, IL.

• Domestic relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
