Title: Senior Associate, Tax Compliance & Reporting

Location: United States – EST or CST (Remote)

We are looking for an experienced tax senior to assist our North America Tax team.  Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, handling complex tax matters related to partnership structures, preparation of tax workpapers, reviewing tax returns, making tax payments, and providing strategic tax analysis through effective use of technology and data-driven tools. The Senior Associate collaborates with internal teams, external tax providers, external auditors, and regulatory agencies to minimize tax liabilities, ensure compliance and efficiently handle tax risk.


Key Responsibilities
  • Work with external tax provider to prepare, review, and file U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns for partnerships and corporations.
  • Calculate quarterly U.S. tax distributions for investors and coordinate payment of funds, as well as make quarterly state withholding and tier level payments.
  • Calculate quarterly corporate tax estimates and make tax payments.
  • Work with external tax provider to prepare, review, and file Canadian federal and provincial tax return, along with preparing quarterly tax estimates and make tax payments.
  • Calculate annual tax provision and input provision data to financial reporting system.
  • Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for tax savings.
  • Handle research on and resolve federal and state tax notices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to tax team.
  • Assist with special projects, such as mergers, acquisitions, and international tax matters.
  • Assist with indirect tax matters as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting – Master’s degree or CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of tax accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with tax research software, depreciation software (Sage), Microsoft Office Suite and emerging AI-enabled tools.

Work Environment

The Senior Associate position is fully remote with minimal, occasional travel. The position may require extended hours during peak tax seasons and involves collaboration with internal departments, external tax providers, and investors.  You must be able to stay on task and operate efficiently in a full-time, remote environment.
