Description
NexGen Data Systems is seeking a highly skilled Application Administrator - Senior to perform engineering builds, formal installations, and O&M for enterprise Vulnerability Management (VM) and security tool suites at United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). The scope of this project involves maintaining the integrity of hardened security tools, performing functional testing, and managing the full lifecycle of cybersecurity software across internal enclaves and combatant command systems. The Application Administrator - Senior serves as the primary technical support role for VM tool suites, ensuring that all software is STIG-compliant, operational, and patched, while performing daily troubleshooting and disaster recovery activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:- Perform STIG-compliant engineering builds and execute formal change-management installations of security tools across target enclaves.
- Execute daily operations, maintenance, and routine user troubleshooting for the enterprise tool suites.
- Plan and manage Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) executions.
- Conduct comprehensive functional testing procedures for newly deployed toolsets and patches.
- Manage tool software procurement cycles, lifecycle upgrade support planning, and version control coordination.
- Perform system resilience testing by executing periodic Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) test exercises.
- Comply with all DoD and USTRANSCOM cybersecurity regulations, physical/personnel security rules, and information protection policies.

Requirements
Desired/Required Skills:- Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance required.
- Must satisfy DoD 8570.01-M / DoDM 8140.03 requirements for consideration.
- Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) Cyber 101 course completion required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive senior-level experience in IT systems administration.
- Expert knowledge of DISA STIG benchmarks and vulnerability management software (e.g., ACAS, Nessus, or similar enterprise security tools).
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, patch management, and hardware/software lifecycle planning.
- Strong conceptual thinking and communication skills, with a track record of authoring standard operating procedures (SOPs).
