About the roleWe are seeking a talented Senior Application Developer to join our Government Business Solutions team. In this role you will focus on delivering applications for our customers, developing industry-leading applications running on D-Wave's advanced quantum systems.
This position will give you the opportunity to learn about D-Wave's application environment and work with internal teams and customers to build applications for market launch. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading customers and cutting-edge quantum computing technology.
What you'll do- Develop algorithms to solve complex problems while building applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools
- Implement and optimize the performance/own the code base, of Commercial quantum applications, primarily in Python
- Build out custom applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release
- Ensure successful delivery of projects to achieve positive business value for customers
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and other team members to understand application requirements and design customized solutions
- Become an expert, on a variety of our professional services offerings such as our cloud service (LEAP) and open-sourced software tools (Ocean)
- Help to solve real-world, challenging problems that have a direct impact on our commercial customers business success
About You- 5+ years professional experience with Python. Knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx is a plus but not required
- Minimum BSc in Computer Science or related technical field preferred. Masters or PhD a bonus.
- Strong knowledge of probability, statistics and/or math
- Experience with a version control software such as Git
- Experience implementing complex algorithms
- Experience building open-source applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated creativity in approaching new problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about writing state-of-the-art code
- Proven experience working with federal agencies
- Must currently have or be able to get a US Government Top Secret security clearance

The pay range for this role is:124,000 - 186,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
