Description
NexGen Data Systems is seeking a highly technical Senior Analytics Specialist to develop data-driven cyber readiness solutions, engineer secure data processing pipelines, and perform advanced directive impact modeling for USTRANSCOM. The scope of this project involves manipulating massive cybersecurity telemetry feeds to support the active monitoring systems across the combatant command.
The Analytics Specialist - Senior will be responsible for creating automated data extraction frameworks, maintaining secure database schemas, and deploying threat algorithms within the command's central Cybersecurity Readiness Framework (CRF) dashboard environment.
Roles & Responsibilities- Engineer, optimize, and maintain the stable data schemas and API integrations that ingest live threat feeds into the central CRF dashboards.
- Write, test, and debug highly efficient risk algorithms utilizing Python, SQL, and advanced cloud data frameworks (such as Databricks).
- Build and maintain dynamic dashboards and telemetry visuals within Qlik to reflect near real-time organizational cyber health metrics with under 24-hour latency.
- Interpret newly published national, DoD, and USTRANSCOM cyber directives, creating data-driven impact analysis models to project compliance posture changes.
- Clean, normalize, and parse disorganized automated log streams (such as raw scan files or network device outputs) to enable predictive risk modeling.
- Collaborate closely with Cyber A&A specialists to ensure that data analytics outputs align directly with core RMF control evidence parameters.

Requirements
Desired/Required Skills:- Clearance Required: Active Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI (Tier 5 Investigation) required.
- Location: On-site at Scott Air Force Base (AFB), IL, with hybrid delivery configurations as approved by the Government.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or 5 years' experience with a relevant technical certification.
- REQUIRED Cyber Baseline: Active DoD 8570.01-M / DoDM 8140 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, or Data+).
- REQUIRED Computing Environment: Active professional certification or documented training in Python (Advanced Spec), Databricks Engineering, or Qlik Sense Analytics.
- REQUIRED Foundational Qualification: Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) Cyber 101 course completion.
- 6-9 years' relevant data engineering, algorithm development, or business intelligence analysis experience.
- Expert hands-on proficiency writing raw SQL queries, developing Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) data pipelines, and structuring API endpoints.
- Clear understanding of cybersecurity telemetry metrics, including vulnerability severity scores (CVSS), asset criticality tiers, and compliance tracking variables.
