Senior Analytic Consultant

The IHD Insights-as-a-Service team at Norstella is looking for an experienced Senior Analytic Consultant to join our growing services team supporting Panalgo and IHD. This is an individual contributor role on a high-performing team, empowered to work creatively and deliver solutions leveraging Norstella's unified Real World Data asset - a combination of claims, lab, SDOH, and EMR data. You will be joining an organization hard wired for innovation and specialization to meet the high demands of our biopharmaceutical and life sciences client base.

In this role, you will work independently on client engagements in IHD, providing advisory services alongside advanced technologies such as machine learning and predictive analytics, and querying and analyzing claims, lab, EMR, and other real-world data to support life sciences use cases.

Success in this role requires expertise in epidemiologic methods, HEOR and HCRU analytics, domain knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas, advanced SQL and data analysis skills, and strong ownership of client relationships. It is critical that an individual in this role has worked in and understands the dynamics of the US healthcare ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Client Management and Communication

• Own client relationships as the primary point of contact, communicating clearly with senior and non-technical stakeholders
• Advise clients on study design, data source selection, and analytical approach, managing expectations across concurrent projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, data scientists, statisticians, and healthcare professionals, to identify and define analytical requirements and deliver actionable insights.

Protocol Translation and Project Implementation

• T ranslate study protocols into IHD projects , from cohort definition through analytic output
• Own end-to-end quality control, applying deep knowledge of claims, lab, EMR/EHR, and SDOH data to guide implementation decisions

Domain Expertise , Methodology , and Data Quality

• Apply deep knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas and real-world data assets, onboarding to new areas and sources quickly
• Write and adapt medium-to-complex code in R, Python, SAS, or SQL, delivering efficient and reproducible solutions by default
• Clean, validate, and transform raw data into structured formats suitable for analysis, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the process
• Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries, data mappings, and data lineage, to ensure data transparency and accessibility
• Translate analytic outputs into consultative business insights

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, health services research, public health, statistics , computer science )
• 3+ years of professional, hands-on experience with real-world data (e.g., open/closed claims, lab, EMR/EHR, hospital chargemaster, billing codes) in outcomes research, health economics, epidemiology, or life sciences consulting
• U nderstanding of the life sciences industry and US healthcare ecosystem, including the strengths and limitations of various real-world data sources
• Advanced proficiency in SQL
• Demonstrated ability to independently own client relationships and provide strategic advisory
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings for diverse audiences
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of creative problem-solving and strategic thinking
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively with strong attention to detail
