Job PurposeThe Analyst - Supplier Performance & Material Management supports supplier performance, material readiness, and supply chain visibility for National Grid's New England Electric Capital Investment Plan. This position is part of the Materials Management team supporting substation, transmission line, and distribution line projects.
The Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and maintaining supplier and material management data that supports effective decision-making across capital projects. The role works closely with the Project Manager, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction, Logistics, Warehousing, and suppliers to monitor material status, identify risks, maintain reporting, and support resolution of material-related issues before they impact project schedules.
The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, process discipline, and communication skills with an interest in utility materials management, supplier performance, and capital project execution.
Key Accountabilities- Monitor supplier performance against established KPIs, including on-time delivery, lead-time adherence, order confirmation accuracy, quality, and responsiveness.
- Develop and maintain supplier scorecards, dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to provide visibility into supplier performance, material readiness, and supply risks.
- Track critical and long-lead materials from purchase order placement through delivery, proactively identifying potential delays, shortages, and supply chain constraints.
- Coordinate with suppliers, Procurement, Engineering, Project Management, and Construction teams to gather material status updates and support issue resolution.
- Facilitate supplier performance reviews, shortage meetings, and follow-up actions, ensuring commitments, risks, and corrective actions are documented and tracked to closure.
- Analyze supplier and material performance trends to identify recurring issues, root causes, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support the development and execution of recovery plans for at-risk materials, including production expediting, inventory transfers, alternate sourcing, and schedule recovery activities.
- Maintain data integrity, reporting accuracy, standard work documentation, action logs, risk registers, and governance records while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the Materials Management function.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
- Two or more years of experience in supply chain, procurement, materials management, project controls, logistics, operations, analytics, or utility operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with large data sets and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy required.
- Ability to support storm-duty assignments when required.

Salary$109,000 - $128,000 a yearNational Grid will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future. You must have the ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
