About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Security Analyst to join our Information Security team in Canada. Reporting to the VP, Information Security, this role will play a critical role in protecting the organization's technology environment by leading security operations, identifying and mitigating cyber risks, and strengthening our overall security posture.

This role combines operational security expertise with strategic thinking. You will proactively identify security gaps, drive remediation efforts across IT, DevOps, and business teams, support compliance initiatives, and serve as a trusted advisor on security best practices. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify gaps in security controls, tools, and processes, and lead remediation initiatives with IT, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for critical systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks and regulatory requirements, including ISO 27001, NIST, MPA, TPN, and other applicable standards.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of security technologies that align with organizational needs.
  • Partner with Security Architecture, Privacy, Governance, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to align security operations with enterprise security strategy.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders by providing guidance on security risks, controls, and mitigation strategies.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing security evidence, documentation, and subject matter expertise.
  • Collaborate with incident response teams to strengthen security capabilities and improve threat detection and response.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Security Analysts, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor the evolving threat landscape, emerging technologies, and industry trends, recommending proactive security improvements.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to drive security awareness and influence secure business decisions.
  • Balance operational security priorities while continuously improving processes, playbooks, and security maturity.


Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8-12 years of progressive experience in information security, including significant experience in security operations or a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading incident response activities from investigation through remediation and post-incident review.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and industry standards, including ISO 27001, NIST, MPA, and TPN.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, identity and access management, threat intelligence, and cloud security technologies.
  • Experience developing and implementing security controls, operational procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex security risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and contribute to the development of a high-performing security team.

Preferred
  • Professional security certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GIAC, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting cloud, hybrid, and enterprise-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of AI, emerging technologies, and their associated security risks.
  • Experience within media, entertainment, content protection, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting security audits, governance initiatives, and compliance programs.
