Full Job Description
This position reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting with working level supervision provided primarily by the Team Lead - Financial Performance, MD&A and Compliance.

As a member of the Financial Reporting team, this position assists in the preparation of accurate financial information and activities that support the communication of accurate and timely financial results of TC Energy and TransCanada PipeLines Limited.

What you'll do
  • Prepare Quarterly and Annual Consolidated Statement of Cash Flows and respective MD&A cash flow sections, including detailed supporting analysis schedules and reconciliations
  • Coordinate with business units on gathering and analyzing transactional information and serve as a main point of contact with respect to cash flow-related accounting and reporting issues
  • Coordinate the preparation of Subsidiary's Annual Consolidated Financial Statements, including managing required timelines, distributing the reporting package to respective reviewers as well as resolving any related inquiries
  • Complete Annual notes to Consolidated Financial Statements (Equity investments, Changes in Operating Working Capital, etc.)
  • Respond to the requirements of external auditors with respect to accounting and reporting issues
  • Prepare Pension Plan financial statements and Statistics Canada reports
  • Proactively analyze financial information as well as accounting and financial reporting complex matters
  • Develop and maintain Excel models used to support accounting, reporting and compliance requirements
  • Other ad hoc projects and analysis as required


Minimum Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting-related experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • Keen attention to detail and drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong financial analysis, reporting and communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines with multiple priorities and minimal supervision
  • Proven team player, successful in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, with ability to optimize Excel models
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or other recognized accounting standards
  • Working knowledge of financing arrangements considered an asset
  • Experience working with SAP, BPC, Workiva, SharePoint, Teams and/or Power BI considered an asset
