Senior Accounting Manager

Schedule: Full-time | Monday - Friday

At Cedar Community,financial stewardship is about more than numbers, it's about supporting anorganization that serves residents, families, and the community. As our SeniorAccounting Manager, you'll provide accounting leadership, financial insight,and operational support that helps Cedar Community fulfill its mission withintegrity and accountability. Working closely withthe Controller and leadership team, you'll oversee key accounting functions,support financial reporting and audits, guide accounting staff, and ensurecompliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and oversee keyaccounting functions while supporting the Controller and providing guidance toaccounting staff
  • Prepare, analyze,and communicate accurate financial statements, reports, budgets, and financialinformation to leadership and managers
  • Develop and analyzebudgets, monitor budget-to-actual results, and provide financial insights tosupport organizational decision-making
  • Overseereconciliations, subsidiary ledgers, fixed assets, cost allocation, fundaccounting, and other general accounting functions
  • Develop and maintainaccounting procedures and internal controls that promote accuracy, consistency,efficiency, and compliance
  • Assist with annualand external audits by preparing documentation and providing requestedfinancial information
  • Prepare andcoordinate required healthcare, governmental, tax, and regulatory reports,including applicable cost reports and nonprofit filings
  • Ensure accountingpractices and financial reporting comply with GAAP, healthcare requirements,and applicable federal and state regulations
  • Maintain accountingfor payroll-related transactions, cash receipts, petty cash, and other assignedfinancial functions
  • Oversee accountingand compliance related to planned giving agreements, including Gift Annuitiesand Trusts
  • Prepare customreports and provide financial analysis to help managers understand results,trends, costs, and opportunities
  • Stay current onaccounting standards, healthcare regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Build positive,professional relationships with team members, managers, residents, donors,auditors, vendors, and regulatory agencies
  • Maintain strictconfidentiality and demonstrate integrity, accountability, and ethicalfinancial practices
  • Perform specialprojects and other duties as assigned

• What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree inAccounting required; CPA preferred
  • Eight or more yearsof accounting experience, preferably including public accounting experience
  • Experience inhealthcare, senior living, and/or nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Strong knowledge ofGAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, cost allocation, reconciliations, andregulatory reporting
  • Knowledge ofhealthcare accounting and third-party cost reporting preferred
  • Strong analytical,organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computerskills, including spreadsheets and financial reporting systems, with theability to learn new software
  • Ability to managemultiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy andconfidentiality
  • Ability to workindependently, exercise sound judgment, and uphold organizational policies andethical standards
