Get to Know the Opportunity:

Voya is seeking a Senior Reinsurance Accountant to join the Reinsurance Finance team. The position is responsible for reinsurance administration, accounting, and reporting. This role offers visibility across finance with opportunities to partner across internal teams and external reinsurers.

The Contributions You’ll Make:

  • Responsible for administering reinsurance agreements, accounting, and reporting. These include preparing and compiling reinsurance settlements using admin system and ledger data, analyzing reinsurance results, and accounting and recording reinsurance activities.

  • Contribute to financial close cycles, including reviewing, and analyzing reinsurance operating results.

  • Participate in onboarding new reinsurance treaties, including reviewing draft agreements, creating necessary reports, partnering with internal teams to finalize accounting conclusions, and operationalize agreements.

  • Maintain and configure new agreements in the reinsurance system.

  • Interact with reinsurers and third-party administrators to ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of reports received.

  • Deliver succinct and clear summarizations of analysis tailored to the needs of different customers.

  • Participate in internal and external audit testing.

  • Ensure reinsurance processes, accounting, and reporting activities comply with SOX and audit standards, including maintaining effective controls and efficient operating processes.

  • Leverage strong technical expertise to proactively identify, design, and implement process improvements.

  • Support other team members, including reviewing offshore work.

  • Manage multiple, often competing priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Work with large, complex Excel files and translate data into meaningful analysis.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, CPA preferred

  • At least 4 years of experience in reinsurance analysis, financial reporting and accounting

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

  • Experience working with admin systems and ledger data

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Working knowledge of AI tools used to support financial analysis, reporting, and productivity (e.g., Microsoft Copilot or similar AIdriven platforms).

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • GAAP and Statutory reporting knowledge

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to balance quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with Oracle or other complex ERP financial systems and Excelbased financial reporting tools (e.g., Oracle Smart View or equivalent EPM/ERP addins).

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) or similar financial analytics platforms.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
