AI-FIRST MINDSET - WHAT WE LOOK FOR

At Paystand, AI fluency is a real part of how we work - and it comes up in our interview process, including at the executive level. We're not looking for engineers, but we do want people who:
  • Have actively used AI tools (beyond basic chat) to solve real work problems.
  • Have built or contributed to automation workflows, prompt-based pipelines, or API integrations.
  • Are curious, experimental, and eager to keep learning as AI capabilities evolve.
  • Can speak concretely about how they've used AI to save time, reduce errors, or unlock new insight.

If you've automated a reconciliation, built a GPT workflow for month-end prep, connected a tool via API, or even just systematically explored what AI can do for finance - we want to hear about it.

KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in complex financial data.
  • Independent Judgment: Comfortable working with limited supervision.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative in a small, fast-moving team environment.
  • Process Improvement: Constantly looks for smarter, faster, and more automated ways to work.
  • Big Picture Thinking: Connects day-to-day accounting work to broader business and strategic goals.
  • Customer-First Attitude: Treats business partners with care, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • AI Curiosity: Proactively explores and applies new tools to improve financial operations.

  • Compensation ranging from $80,000 - $110,000 OTE, depending on experience and geographical location.
  • Enjoy generous PTO and sick leave, because we believe in balance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
  • We've got your health covered with comprehensive health dental and vision insurance plans.
  • Fuel your days with free snacks and paid lunches in the office.
