Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and financial reporting process of HRCI's accounting team. This position supports the Accounting Manager in ensuring that the capabilities and delivery of our accounting processes are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Institute policies. The position works collaboratively with members of the HRCI team, internal and external partners, and customers of HRCI.

  • Perform monthly close process by reviewing general ledger transactions, preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. Maintain the integrity of all accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies.
  • Preparation of financial statements and monthly financial presentations
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly/quarterly Revenue Reports to vendors and present vendor approved reports for payment
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with managers and staff and provide them with necessary financial results and analyses, explanation of HRCI's accounting policies and procedures, and other general business guidance.
  • Assist corporate departments with proper coding of invoices and expenses
  • Prepare various reports that include Key Performance Indicator reports, month and quarter end analyses and any as-needed reports requested by supervisor or VP of Finance
  • Support the annual budget and periodic forecasts by using historical data analysis and predictive techniques
  • Prepare documentation, audit schedules, and reports to assist external auditors during interim and year-end fieldwork
  • Update, maintain, and follow policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls over financial data
  • Review and evaluate data that is warehoused for internal reporting

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, required
  • 5+ years of accounting, or applicable progressive experience, required
  • Proficiency in utilizing multiple systems such as Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems, required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and accounting data flows
  • Expert comfort with Microsoft Excel and financial concepts
  • Intellectually curious with a desire to learn, grow and improve
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, exhibits a positive attitude and a professional demeanor
  • Superior Microsoft Office Suite skills and enterprise GL systems
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, particularly accounting and payroll systems


Salary range: $90,000 - 105,000/year; Compensation is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
