Senior Accountant

The duties of the Senior Accountant ensure that the business is operating effective and efficiently by managing accounting activity and monitoring internal controls. In addition, the Senior Accountant is responsible for assigned finance activities, proper reporting and adherence to GAAP.

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for meeting established month end close deadlines by preparing and analyzing journal entries
  • Leads the resolution of issues on all assigned accounts and reconciliations to ensure proper and accurate reporting
  • Analyze finance data to ensure accuracy and compliance to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)
  • Mentor other team members in the department to ensure timely and accurate accounting records for assigned areas
  • Identify areas of concern in accounting records and provide proactive analysis to support the company
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Prepare audit schedules and work with auditors on questions
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting plans, procedures and policies
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations for cost reductions/improvements
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Serve as backup to other roles within the Finance department as needed
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential


Requirements of the Position
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
  • Expert with financial reporting requirements/GAAP and tax
  • CPA preferred
