Title: Senior AccountantLocation: Onsite Downtown Boston- 5 days a week in officeCompensation: $75,000-$120,000 commensurate with experience, plus bonus eligibilityAbout the RoleWe're building out our US accounting presence in Boston and looking for a Senior Accountant to be our first accounting hire in the US outside of the Controller. This is a great opportunity for an early-career accountant to grow quickly: you'll get hands-on exposure to month-end close, audit support, and the process-building work that goes into scaling an accounting function, working closely with and learning directly from the Controller.
What You'll Do- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process
- Assist the Controller in documenting and rolling out new accounting processes and controls as the team scales
- Coordinate with the India-based accounting team member on day-to-day handoffs to help ensure consistent standards across time zones
- Gather and organize supporting documentation for internal and external audit requests
- Help identify gaps in current processes and flag opportunities to improve close timeliness and accuracy
- Support technical accounting research and memo preparation under the Controller's guidance
- Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis requests from the Controller
- Oversee Accounts Payable function and help ensure payments are made in a timely and accurate manner
What We're Looking For- 2-4 years of accounting experience; exposure to public accounting (audit) or month-end close in an industry setting is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA track a plus but not required
- Some hands-on experience with month-end close tasks such as journal entries and reconciliations
- Exposure to audit support (internal or external) preferred, but not required
- Eagerness to learn process design and controls work, with the initiative to take on more scope over time
- Comfortable working as the sole on-site US accounting team member
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with an international teammate across time zones
- Proficiency with Excel; experience with accounting software/ERP a plus
Why This RoleThis is a ground-floor opportunity to grow with the company's US accounting function. You'll have direct visibility with the Controller, hands-on exposure to close, audit, and process work well beyond a typical staff role, and a clear path to grow into a more senior position as the team and your scope expand.
