Application InstructionsPosition DescriptionJob SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This position handles more complex accounting activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger maintenance. The Senior Accountant will work closely with Accounting leadership and other departments to ensure transactions are properly recorded, deadlines are met, and established accounting procedures and internal controls are followed.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
- Perform monthly balance sheet, bank, and other account reconciliations.
- Support and complete assigned responsibilities throughout the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review financial activity for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and make appropriate corrections.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting.
- Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions and account balances.
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other general accounting activities.
- Review and support accounting activities completed by junior accounting team members as needed.
- Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple locations or business entities.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and requested financial information.
- Ensure accounting activities are completed in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.

- Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Operations, and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Assist Accounting leadership with special projects, financial analysis, and other accounting initiatives as needed.
Position RequirementsQualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and standard accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
- Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues independently.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in a multi-location or multi-entity organization is preferred.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus but not required.
