Location: This position is onsite and is based in Wilmington, MA

Position Summary:

Energetiq is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in the Company's financial close, financial reporting, and ERP implementation initiatives. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, manufacturing experience, and the ability to take on increasing responsibility within the monthly and quarterly close cycle. The successful candidate will combine technical accounting expertise with analytical thinking to support accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvement. This role offers significant exposure across the accounting organization, with opportunities for increased ownership and long-term professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Serve as a key contributor in the preparation and analysis of the monthly internal financial reporting package, including variance analysis and commentary to support management's understanding of financial results.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for the Company's parent entity.
  • Apply U.S. GAAP in assigned accounting areas, research accounting issues, and document conclusions.


General Accounting
  • Support daily and monthly accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls, including:
  • Serve as primary administrator for the Concur expense management system, including oversight of expense report workflows, user administration, approval routing and issue resolution.
  • Prepare journal entries and complex balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, travel and entertainment (T&E), fixed assets, and other assigned accounts.
  • Support inventory and cost accounting processes, including cost rollups and margin analysis
  • Oversee project-related accounting activities, prepare flux analysis for R&D portfolios, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Serve as a backup for key accounting functions and assist with month-end close activities.
  • Mentor and review work prepared by Staff and Junior Accountants.


Audit & Controls
  • Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Support mid-year reviews and year-end audits by preparing audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
  • Drive process improvements to streamline the close cycle and improve data quality.


ERP Implementation
  • Serve as a key finance team member on the ERP implementation project
  • Contribute to the design of accounting workflows and control requirements.
  • Participate in data validation, system testing, and cutover activities.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years of progressive accounting experience; preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, CPA or CPA-track preferred.
  • Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and close experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP system required; SAP preferred.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls preferred.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to work independently while simultaneously handling multiple priorities and meeting time deadlines required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are required.


The compensation salary range for this role is $89,500 to $108,500. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
