ResponsibilitiesWe have an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team, based in the Downtown Houston office. As a key player in the team's operations, this individual should be conscientious about their role and possess a strong "can-do" customer service attitude. The
SeniorAccountant will have the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities - Oversee U.S. and international tax compliance, including coordination with external advisors and review of filings
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances
- Assist with consolidation of multiple entities and intercompany transactions
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation
- Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvements
- Perform and oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries and complex account reconciliations
- Partner with cross-functional teams (payroll, tax, operations)
- Communicates frequently with CFO, Controller and Assistant Controller
- Manage Staff Accountant(s) for Latin America
- Mentors other Finance Team personnel on priority projects and other areas of accounting
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
- Ad hoc financial analysis projects
** This role is a hybrid position.Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 7-9 years' experience in an accounting role
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising staff accountants or junior team members
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
- Good working knowledge of tax rules and regulations with the ability to apply these rules to transactions in a professional services firm
- Experience working within a dynamic multi-country team in a professional services firm
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional oral/written communication skills with ability to interact professionally with diverse groups
- Proficient in MS Office Suites - Advanced Excel
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred
