The Senior Accountant, General Accounting - Cash Reconciliations & Cash Operations is responsible for performing and supporting enterprise cash reconciliation processes. Additionally, this role contributes to initiatives impacting cash activities across various key functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), premium receipts, claims disbursements, and others. You will ensure accurate,, and controlled reconciliation of cash-related accounts while partnering with partners to improve processes and strengthen financial controls.
Reporting to the Associate Director of General Accounting, you will help maintain balance sheet integrity, resolving reconciliation issues, supporting audits, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Main Responsibilities- Help with projects improving cash operations, including system enhancements, implementations, integrations, and policy updates.
- Perform monthly cash reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and resolution of reconciling items following company procedures.
- Reconcile high-volume cash activity, including:
- Accounts Payable disbursements
- Premium billing and cash receipts
- Claims payments and related clearing accounts
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving outstanding items promptly.
- Monitor aged reconciling items and escalate issues to management.
- Partner with teams, including AP, Billing, Claims, Treasury, and IT, to research discrepancies and improve cash-related processes.
- Support process improvement projects focused on automation, standardization, and enhanced reporting dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, Model Audit Rule (MAR) requirements, and audit readiness expectations.
- Prepare reconciliation documentation and support internal and external audit requests.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that provide visibility into reconciliation status, exceptions, and important cash metrics.
- Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to cash and balance sheet accounts.

- 3+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or reconciliation experience.
- Experience with accounting principles, financial controls, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience supporting process improvement and automation projects..
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems.
Preferred Qualifications- CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or managed care environments.
- Knowledge of premium billing, claims payment cycles, treasury operations, or cash management processes.
- Experience with reconciliation tools such as BlackLine.
- Experience with data reporting tools, including Power BI.

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$78,400 - $107,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
