Full Job Description
Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our high-performing Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing financial processes, leveraging technology, and delivering value-added insights to leadership. Schedule:

  • This position holds normal business hours, with little to no travel expected. Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (i.e.: month end, quarter end, and year end close activities.)
  • We support a hybrid work environment consisting of in-person collaboration of 3 days per week in our Calgary office and flexible remote work.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statement note packages and assist with MD&A review.
  • Contribute to the month-end close process by ensuring accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly internal financial reporting packages.
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, including Lease and PP&E continuities.
  • Act as the key point of contact with US Property Tax advisors, ensuring timely delivery of requested documentation and information.
  • Analyze and document complex transactions in accordance with IFRS, providing clear and insightful analysis.
  • Manage internal audit processes and act as the key liaison for internal controls, providing support for internal, external, and tax audits, as required.
  • Assist in monitoring and enhancing financial and operational internal controls, proactively identifying risk gaps, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Provide timely responses to ad hoc financial requests and other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA or equivalent designation required.


Experience & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting.
  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite and/or Hyperion is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
