About The RoleAs part of a reorganization of our Finance & Accounting team, we're repurposing this position into a Senior Accountant role based in Chicagoland. This role takes ownership of our monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting - including board-level financial reporting - and works closely with our Senior Vice President of Finance to keep our books accurate and our processes sharp, while also owning our employee expense and corporate card programs. This is a great fit for someone who wants real ownership over their area and a hand in shaping our accounting function as it evolves.
Work LocationThis role is based out of our Schaumburg, IL headquarters and follows a hybrid schedule. Minimal travel is required.
What You'll Do- Lead monthly and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Manage core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, cash activity, and invoicing
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with financial data and reporting for finance leadership
- Administer employee expense and corporate card programs (Concur and WEX), including troubleshooting and reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen accounting operations and internal controls
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for board-level and executive review
- Partner with the FP&A Manager and Administration team on cross-functional accounting needs
- Support the company's transition to accrual-basis accounting practices and standards
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with accounting/expense systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Concur, bill.com, WEX, or similar)
Nice To Have- CPA, or actively pursuing CPA licensure
- Experience in an agency, professional services, or CPG environment
Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated base salary range for this role is $95,000-$105,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
