Description
Senior Accountant - Ancon ServicesThis is a high-visibility role that sits at the center of our monthly close process - the critical link between transactional accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities. You'll work closely with a fellow Senior Accountant and CFO and have real opportunity to grow into greater ownership as our finance function scales alongside the business.
Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience
What's the Job All About?Key Responsibilities:
- Own the month-end close process end-to-end, meeting established deadlines and maintaining a detailed close checklist
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across all company accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and post inter-company journal entries, ensuring accurate elimination and reconciliation between related entities
- Record and review monthly accruals (expense, revenue, payroll, and other) to ensure accurate period-end reporting
- Prepare and analyze the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances
- Prepare and file Sales & Use Tax, Personal Property Tax, and other privilege/excise taxes
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of the close cycle
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
What We're Looking For:Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
- Experience with inter-company accounting and multi-entity environments
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred (not required):
- CPA or active CPA candidacy
