What will you do:We are seeking a
Senior Account Manager - Advanced Synthesis to manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer relationships within Lonza's Advanced Synthesis business. This role serves as a key commercial partner for pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers, customer satisfaction, project execution, commercial activities and account growth with assigned customers. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver value to customers while supporting Lonza business objectives.
- Manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts, driving customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and long-term business relationships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders while serving as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned accounts
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand business within existing accounts by aligning customer needs with Lonza's Advanced Synthesis capabilities
- Lead commercial discussions related to proposals, pricing, contracts, and business opportunities in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Develop, maintain and execute account plans, ensuring alignment with customer objectives, commercial priorities, and agreed growth strategies
- Partner with Project Management, Operations, Technical Teams, and Business Development to support successful project execution and customer communications
- Represent the voice of the customer internally, facilitating issue resolution, managing escalations, and ensuring commitments are fulfilled
- Maintain accurate account plans, opportunities, forecasts, and customer information within Salesforce and other business systems
What we are looking for: - Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO, or specialty chemical industry, including commercial, account management, business development, or customer-facing responsibilities
- Experience supporting small molecule drug substance, amorphous solid dispersions, bioconjugation or contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services
- Demonstrated success managing customer relationships, growing accounts, and supporting complex commercial opportunities
- Experience with proposal development, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and commercial deal structures
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and commercialization processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage customers and internal teams effectively
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment and managing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong customer focus
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% to customer sites, industry events, and Lonza locations
